I am going to show some tips that took me 5 minutes to make my computer faster
by 30%. But I cannot guarantee you that the same thing will happen for you in
just 5 minutes or less since I do not know at what speed you are operating your
system now. Often computer's are slow by being infected with a virus, spyware,
trojan, adware etc. If that's your case and if your are sure about it then I
suggest you to get a good anti-virus and scan your system now to be fully
protected and make your computer fast. Since the tips which I am going to
mention below won't work if you are computer is infected, I am assuming that
your computer have become slow after use for a long time which many users
experience regularly.
1. Remove any unnecessary files from your startup and desktop. Keep only
files that is necessary for your system startup. Do not keep messenger, anti
virus, registry cleaner and other useless software in your startup unless you
need it. It's better that you start these programs everytime you use rather than
keeping it on the startup.
2. Do not keep your anti-virus or anti-spyware on. By that I don't mean the
resident shield on. If your usual resident shield takes to much of your memory
space, look for alternatives. I personally use Vipre anti-virus and anti-spyware
which occupies very less memory space and is rated as the best anti-virus of
2009.
3. Run a quick disk cleanup. You can do that by going in
start->programs->accessories->system tools->disk cleanup.
4. Make this small change. Go in start->run. Type msconfig and press OK.
You must be now seeing a window with many tabs. Go to BOOT.INI and change the
timeout to 3 seconds. You can restart if now or later if you want. But once you
restart, you will be seeing the effect.
5. By just following this step, you could be making your computer 30% faster.
But please note that you might not like the graphics since your XP graphics will
be very similar windows 98 graphics by making this change. But you can always
try and see whether it suits you or not. It won't take you more than 30 seconds
to make this change.
First, right click on "my computer" and go to properties. Go in the
"advanced" tab and select "settings" which is under "performance". Then select
the option "adjust for best performance" and press "OK" to see the change. Don't
like the appearance. Change it back to "Let Windows choose what's best for my
computer" and press "OK". But if you are OK with it then enjoy the speed.
6. If you are a gamer, then you might like to make this change to see the 30%
change in speed. Go to "properties" in "my computer". Go to "advanced" and click
"settings" under performance. Now go in the "advanced" tab again and select
"change" under virtual memory. Make the "Initial size" same as the "maximum
size". You can do that by simply copying the value of "maximum size " and
pasting it in the value of "Initial size". Press apply and you are done. Enjoy
the speed.
If you are not willing to change any of your settings in your computer to
make it fast then simply use the best registry cleaner available in the market.
I have used many registry cleaners and found Registry Easy to be the best
registry cleaner and would recommend everyone to use it since it can make your
computer fast instantly by at least 30-50% . So go ahead and grab the latest
version of Registry Easy. You do not have to pay a cent before it performs
the first scan for you and shows you results. You can also read my review and
comparison results chart of other registry cleaners at http://www.registryeasy.mykillerreview.com/
